What I want to know is, why can't I do it from a built-in GUI utility(disk management)? How is theĪverage user expected to do this? Why can I easily delete the volume that my OS is installed on(thus, rendering my computer unusable), but can't on a removable disk(with no effect on the rest of my computer)? I'm really trying to understand the reasoningīehind this.

I know perfectly well how to do it from diskpart, I've done it before. I have a few small PNY flash drives and never had any issues with them. Now I bring up Disk Management and I'm unable to do anything to the 32GB partition nor do anything to the That's fine, no problem, it was just a temporary thing.
